  • Information collected automatically: When you visit our Site, we may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type and device information, the pages you visit on our Site, how you found our Site (e.g., referral link), an anonymised string created from your IP address (e.g. 888.888.888.888 > 888.888.888.000), and a hashed string created from your IP address.
  • Registered User Activity: If you are a registered user of our website, we track your content activity such as creating, updating, or deleting posts and comments.

An anonymised string created from your email address (hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile picture is publicly visible with your comment.

Comment Data Retention

Comments and associated metadata are retained for 2 years to enable follow-up comments and avoid indefinite storage. This retention period may be adjusted to comply with applicable data protection laws.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year for convenience.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices for two days and one year respectively. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, we save a cookie with the post ID in your browser for one day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
